Sarah Khan

Former Travel + Leisure editor Sarah was born in Canada and raised in Saudi Arabia, the U.S., and India before moving to South Africa. She covers the world – from Estonia to Namibia, Australia to India – for the New York Times, Condé Nast Traveler, Vogue and numerous other publications. She also blogs as The South AfriKhan.

Top travel memory: “I checked into a lovely guesthouse on the outskirts of the beautiful blue-tinted village Chefchaouen, Morocco, with a group of friends, and despite our various attempts at broken Arabic, French and Spanish, the language barrier with the staff was tough. What finally united us? The world's lingua franca: Bollywood. We had a blast staying up late by the fireplace with Aziz and Abdou Noor, belting out classic hits from Indian movies.”
