Helen Farmer

Helen Farmer has been living in the Middle East for ten years, working as a magazine editor, radio presenter and writer. She is founder of Dubai-based website The Mothership, which offers a very honest take on living, working and parenting in the city. Perhaps too honest at times!

Top travel memory: "Living in Dubai means long weekends away are relatively easy, and I've been lucky enough to travel to Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Turkey, the Maldives and Lebanon over the last few years. My favourite was a freezing few days in Istanbul – it snowed so we spent our time ducking in and out of beautiful buildings and cosied up by open fires drinking hot apple tea (and eating kebabs)."
